Special Lectures 'Present' Crisis, 'Distant' Voices

2018.Feb.13

Outline

In our era of rapid globalization, the Asia-Pacific region as a hub of intellectual exchange and academic knowledge has been gaining increasing significance more than ever. To the academic research in the Asia-Pacific region like Japan, our next and urgent task is to re-organize the universal and global system of academic knowledge itself from a new standpoint rooted in this region. LAP hopes to tackle this challenge in our joint research educational project in liberal arts and the Humanities in partnership with the Asia Institute, the University of Melbourne.

In March, 2013, our Program started off with research lectures at the University of Melbourne by two faculty members from the University of Tokyo. This time, our Program will invite two faculty members to the University of Tokyo from the University of Melbourne, and hold Special Lectures " 'Present' Crisis, 'Distant' Voices ".
