This class is a Greater UTokyo Seminar where students from U Tokyo will conduct joint research at Nanjing University, China, with NU students. This will be held in March, 2016, at Nanjing University in China. Those who wish to register are asked to attend the Preliminary Lectures on September 29, write a paper on them, which will be used for screening if more students register than expected.
In 2016, the student trip to Nanjing will primarily consist of fieldwork that U Tokyo students do with students from Nanjing. Although there will be the Intensive Lecture Series “Color,” this is for students at Nanjing University.
The Liberal Arts Program (LAP), which plans and hosts this lecture series, has been hosting an interdisciplinary lecture series since 2010 beginning with “Body Theory,” each year offering a diverse range of angles to think about a topic, as an educational program for globally disseminating U Tokyo’s liberal arts education. At the same time, in Fieldwork, it is our hope that the U Tokyo students will “rediscover” lives of people in Nanjing with students from Nanjing by walking around the city of Nanjing.

* Number of Students: 20 with undergraduate and graduate students combined
* Place: Guidance and Preliminary Lectures will be held in Room 150, Building 1. The Intensive Lecture Series will be held at Nanjing University.
* Class Time: Guidance: September 24, (Thu.) 6th period (18:45 - 20:30)
Preliminary Lectures: Date to be announced at the Guidance
Fieldwork: Two groups is expected to visit Nanjing, each for a week, over the period from March 6 to 20, 2016.* Fees: Students are expected to pay part of the travel and lodging expenses. There will be an explanation on the overview of the Intensive Lectures at Nanjing University, including the Fees, during the Guidance.
