- ZENSHO U Tokyo Nanjing Liberal Arts Student Exchange Programme, based on a donation of Zensho Holdings, is an educational programme which the University of Tokyo carries out with Nanjing University, one of the top universities in China, for the purpose of nurturing torchbearers of Japan and China. We hope that both universities’ students build a relationship of mutual trust while thinking together and educating each other through this education of liberal arts. We aim at being a pro-Chinese group and a pro-Japanese group. Nanjing is a place which has produced many talented people called ‘Kōnan no saishi (man of talent in Kōnan)’ as well as being a symbolic place when we think about the relation between Japan and China. It is the best place to grow people who are full of promise.
The Liberal Arts Programme (LAP) begins an intensive series of lectures on one theme which is an integration of arts and sciences while having exchange students in spring and autumn, with Nanjing University as its partner.
