I Want to Study Chinese in China

Outline: Chinese is a language indispensable not just for learning about Chinese culture and society, but also for intellectual exchange on a global scale. If one aspires toward a global career centered in East Asia, it is ideal to be a trilingual who speaks Chinese in addition to English and Japanese. Intensive training is the most effective way to learn a language. Unlike during a semester, where students take a variety of courses, in Summer School they can focus on language learning in their destination. To improve students’ Chinese ability and their understanding about China, we offer a rigorous curriculum in which the students will be immersed in Chinese from morning to night. Summer School is offered in Nanjing, in partnership with the Center for Global Communication Strategies, and the classes are taught by faculty members from both the University of Tokyo and Nanjing University.
