In 1982, Mr. Ogawa founded Zensho Co., Ltd. (now Zensho Holdings Co., Ltd.) to realize his mission of “eradicating hunger and poverty from the world,” with the goal of becoming the “top food company in the world.” As of the end of March, 2014, Zensho has its chain restaurant stores such as gyudon shop “Sukiya,” family restaurant “BIGBOY,” spaghetti restaurant “Jolly Pasta,” and sushi bar “Hamazushi,” 4,448 of which are located in Japan and 279 are located overseas in the U.S.A., China, Brazil, Thailand, etc. Together with its 65 supermarket chain stores in Japan, Zensho's chain stores number 4,792.
