The Privilege of Distance
- 概要
In moments of crisis, how do we voice needs that are negated as “extravagance”? This paper seeks to consider how the privilege of distance may (or may not) enable negotiation of politics of difference which re-emerge within the “here” and “there” of a crises. The paper examines emerging discourses of post-311 Japan which are linked to politics of distance and intricately bound to an unspoken understanding of what is "here" and what is "there".

- 克莱尔•马利（Claire MAREE，University of Melbourne）
- 2002年从东京大学大学院综合文化研究科博士课程毕业（取得博士学位）。经任东洋大学国际地域学部讲师、津田塾大学准教授（担任“多文化·国际合作课程”）后，现在墨尔本大学亚洲研究所工作。研究方向有日语、性别理论、性向研究（尤其是语言上的交涉研究）。主要著作有《作为发话者语言策略的交涉（脱困、交涉、谈判、斡旋）行为》（ひつじ书房，2007年）、AsiaPacificQueer: Rethinking Genders and Sexualities（合著，University of Illinois Press, 2008年）等多种。近期著作有《“娘娘腔”论》（青土社，2013年）、People, Power and Polity: Household Registration and the Japanese State (合著，Routledge, 2014年)等。
