Family Goes Beyond the Houses
The field of housing construction and town planning in modern times has been based on the tacit assumption that “one family lives in one residence”. This held true during the period of high economic growth. However, it has not been working in this way in this aging society with its declining birth rate. In this lecture, I would like us to think together about a future society by questioning this long-held assumption that “families usually live together in one residence”.

- The purpose of my studies is to create an environment in which humans are able to have richer relationship and I examine how human beings perceive or recognize the environment. My research focuses on the formation of a theory on architectural, interior and environmental designs based on actual observation and examination of human behavior and way of life in their environment. To summarize, I am interested in these concepts: personal space, houses, hospital rooms, offices and public spaces.
